“Forever Loved, Never Forgotten”

The Navy Gold Star Program is eternally grateful for the sacrifice of those Service Members who have died in service to our country. To help us to never forget, we have set up this tribute page to honor and remember the memory of those lives. If you would like to honor the memory of your Sailor, Soldier, Marine, Airman or Coast Guardsman through the Navy Gold Star website please submit your thoughts and a photo.

EOD1 Sean Carson entered active duty on May 28, 1999.Following multiple successful deployments, EOD1 Carson transferred to Platoon 3-3-1 as an EOD Team Leader and selflessly volunteered to deploy to Afghanistan supporting NW Squadron THREE.He was then shifted to Kandahar Province and conducted combat operations with Charlie Platoon Seal Team THREE, and Afghanistan National Army Commandos.Sean was killed in action on August 16, 2012. He was 32 years old.“The day he left for the Great Lakes, I thought to myself that he was leaving as a young boy, but would be back when he was a grown man. I tried to visualize what he would be like. When my son was a teenager, someone in my family said that he was a follower. I want everyone to know that my son Sean Carson is a leader and a hero.” – Fran Carson Gold Star Mother of Sean Carson
